Open season for Cheddar Gorge South Side crags

From 6th September, restricted access to routes on the South Side of Cheddar Gorge was lifted for 2010.
The bolt hangers that were removed from routes on the roadside crags of the South Side during the summer have now been re-instated (thanks to Martin Crocker for this work). In addition, the winter season will soon be upon us and from 1st October 2010 until 15th March 2011 all routes will be unrestricted, with the exception of the Madrugada to Palo Alto section of Madrugada Wall and Doomwatch (pitches 1 and 2).

Please remember that suitable 3rd party liability insurance cover is required to access climbing in Cheddar. All BMC and MCofS members receive £10m of 3rd party cover as part of their membership. For further details on Cheddar access, please see the relevant RAD pages:
