No arms core strength training
November 20, 2009, 11:33:39 am
I split a tip a few days ago and it went from bad to worse last night. Was hoping someone may have some novel techniques to core strength training without hanging from your arms as I'm preserving what is left for a Sunday session.

Cheers

SA Chris

Just about any core strength exercise? Sit ups, pressups, planches, etc. I like the one where you balance on your bum and point your legs out at 45 deg to the ground. Also try doing these with shoulders rotated one way or the other.

Yoga
Sit-ups raising arms and legs at the same time

Floor Leg raises combined with sit ups does the trick for me.

When I read the title of the thread, for a second I had the image in my head of Christian Core having lost both arms (in a Jamie Andrew type incident) giving a lecture on strength training  :)

I've been in the same boat but due to a pulley injury. After some research on here I've been doing some sets of pilates criss-cross exercises, vertical legs crunches and extending and holding alternating legs straight out on front of me while lying on my back with the other leg bent at the knee so that the shin is parallel with the ground.

All of these have given a solid burn in the abs so they seem effective

Just about any core strength exercise?

Haha, you're right, I prefer the UKB approved methods though!

When I was injured a couple of months back I got the gym ball out and followed the core routine in here...
