Mac ibook usb port problem
September 02, 2009, 11:14:23 am
This might well be in vain. Alas...

Since a friend tried (perhaps a little too forcibly) to plug a HD into my ibook the USB ports won't accept any devices. I ran the Console application to see if any distinguishing error messages were present. I get this ad infinitum:

2009-09-01 16:11:51.862 Mac_SwapperDemon[358] ZTESwapperMain::checkUsbcdDevice Restore to the Initial state

Am I to assume that the logic board has been damaged and this is almost certifiably curtains for my beloved piece of silicon and plastic or am I able to do something to restore it to it's normal condition?

Any help much appreciated.

Dude, I'm not sure that's an error.  It could just be a diagnostic log. Does it loop hard, or do you just get one every time you try to insert a device?

I searched for all related components of the ZTE 3G software, deleted the lot and both ports work as normal now. I used a 3G mobile broadband dongle but a long time ago and only briefly. Can't quite see why this caused the problem this far on but it's worked thankfully. Cheers anyway Lund.
