Sherwood
I've only watched the first episode so far, but I'd definitely recommend this. Engaging human drama with an unusual murder investigation on the side, set in an interesting historical context. It feels especially relevant at the moment as strikes are obviously in the news again at the moment.

I'm enjoying Sherwood too - very good.

A friend who is ex-military suggested I should watch the BBC documentary Our Falklands Story

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0018c8n

Not something I would ever normally of watched but he said it was an incredibly powerful piece of documentary making and so it is. Grim and very moving in equal measure, and well worth a watch especially if you are old enough to remember it all (which I am!)

I'd be interested to know how it pans out and if you'd still recommend it at the end. There seems to have been a spate of dramas, particularly on the BBC, recently that have brilliant first episodes and the writing becomes weaker and weaker the further through the series you get.

Episode two also very good, and every reviews which I've glanced at seems to be extremely positive about it.

Having now watched it all, I would definitely recommend it. Some great writing, acting and entertaining throughout I thought.

The Undeclared War

On all4. Decent drama about GCHQ with Simon Pegg and Mark Rylance, among others. I liked the premise and having seen 2 episodes it's good so far.

Haven't seen anyone mention the latest season of Better Call Saul, no spoilers,  I've only watched 4 or 5 episodes! This is miles better than almost anything else on TV,  artfully shot, brilliantly acted and written,  funny, dramatic etc. Easily the equal of breaking bad,  and worth subscribing to Netflix for on its own.

I thought all the previous 5 seasons were great too. Watch it all, its amazing.

With finales to Ozark, BCS and a new season of Love Death and Robots I need to get another month of Netflix while I have free evenings in the school holidays.

The Boys Season 3 is coming out in June too.

So far so good, the usual great mix of story, humour and gore.

Anyone watch this? Slightly disappointed by finale.

Yeah, felt a bit "...find out what this leads to in Season 4", which I don't particularly mind, as it means we get a 4th (and 5th apparently) season, BUT it didn't really resolve any character plot-lines, or arc, or indeed anything

Exactly. Feels like they intend dragging it out for as many seasons as possible now, so don't want to develop the story any more than they have to.

Agree re the boys, needs a Game of Thrones style cull of a few big characters.

Plot spoiler

NSFW  :
Yeah, I really hoped there would be some mutual destruction to end the season and make way for some new characters.

BCS beats anything else by a mile, in my opinion. It's brilliant.

Agree. Everything about it is great, right down to the near perfect composition of every shot.

I'd been wondering about watching this, as I'm almost up to having seen all of the BCS episodes that are available so far. Nice one for the recommendation.

Agree with what everyone has said regarding The Boys...

NSFW  :
felt like we ended up back where we began.

Big case of 'got to keep churning out content for the streaming wars' also a mix of 'writers/producers probably only had a season and half initially thought out so less change is easier' and left me a tad frustrated with what has been an enjoyable show.

Watched the first episode of Borgen on Netflix last night, I'd recommend it on the strength of that: I'll certainly carry on with the first season at least. It's a slick political drama and the fact it's about Denmark separates it nicely from our shit show in the UK.

Big fan of the older Borgen, thanks for the reminder. Been watching far too much sport - Tour, World Athletics, Commonwealth, European Champs ...kinda relieved it's over.

I'm not a Star Wars fanboi but I found this incredibly engaging (although EP5 seemed weaker). It's incredible what they did and how they approached the development of special effects.

The Sandman is bullshit.
Visuals are nice. Sandman character is annoying. World-building is confused and feels like it gets made up as it goes along. Bullshit episode in a diner which is pure filler with about 5 minutes of plot progression shoved in at the end. 5 hours of my life wasted thus far. I'm done.

The Capture is well worth watching. First two available now, and it's updated weekly. Intriguing storyline about deep fakes being used by China to manipulate UK politics. It's on iPlayer.

Snowflake Great hour of stand up from Stewart Lee, on the provision that you like his brand of comedy. It's on iPlayer or Netflix

That should be awesome -- I saw the liveshow of which that's half.

It was an odd experience since I'd bought tickets with a friend for summer 2020. Two years later, we were sitting in the audience going "Well, we finally made it. We survived this far".
