The music on the original is amazing. I decided against watching the rescored version because of this.

Ditto. I just didn't get this at all.  Why Zane Lowe??? Why Drive???  Just too random with no artistic contribution to add to the original film (unless I missed something).  What the fuck's the point?

Anyone catch the first of the Babylon series last night? It's on 4od now. Thought it was good. Not as banger-packed as the pilot, but panning out to be a good series.

For all the fans of Marvellous, I've really been enjoying The Detectorists. Same lead actor, but also joined (and directed by McKenzie Crook) I've found it a great quintessentially British comedy ;

I've been watching this the last two nights and also really enjoyed it. It makes me feel strangely peaceful.
I watched the last 3 episodes the other night. Really enjoyed them only problem it's rekindled the missus idea for us to get a mental detector and I look as shit as fiend in camo.

Not an iPlayer TV thing, but Mastertapes on R4 just did Manic Street Preachers' The Holy Bible.

There's the standard "A-side" documentary:

And the "B-Side" with some extra material:

And on a radio tip, I know the media is all over this now but you should really be listening to Serial by now:

Too good actually. I'm absolutely knackered today after staying up far too late as we watched "just one more" last night.....

Really enjoying the (almost finished) current series of Homeland. Much better than the last one.

Watched this last night and found it really interesting/informative. For someone who knows nothing about how the economy works, there is definitely something to be taken away.

The first 15 mins is spent telling you 'this is not a conspiracy video', which makes it seem like a conspiracy video, altho it is not.

One guy makes a point that before we are to reshape the economy we need to reshape our political thinking/system.... I would go one further and say  that before we do that, we need to reshape our outlook/do some philosophy... something which societies have done repeatedly in the past but we seem to think we have moved past.

Not one to normally listen to radio adaptations, but might have to make an exception for Good Omens starting from tonight...

The Hobbit. As you would expect from a trilogy of long films squeezed from a small book, the final installment lacks any semblance of a plot. I really enjoyed the first, the second I thought was decent and this one was fairly dire.
Having said that, at no point whilst watching these films have I thought "I'd like this to be over now" as it is well propped up by visual effects. That's the only reason to see the film.

FFS. I'm in work, it's too early, and I went to the pub last night. These factors may explain why this isn't in the films thread.

Was just about to post the same. Its remarkably silly. An omelette, a bobble hat, Phil Collins and a racist Santa all feature. Definitely one of the better ones.

Harry Hill was brilliant as Professor Branestawm. Good fun for kids of all ages even if you don't remember the books. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04w7pd3/the-incredible-adventures-of-professor-branestawm

Watching The Fall at the minute, 3 down out of 5. Have to say after hearing good things about it I'm not really taken with it. It's ok it just won't be staying on the hard drive

Too slow and massively padded out... I watched it over the girlfriends shoulder whilst reading or cooking and stuff and just tuned in for the important bits.  It could've been great with a better editor.
