The Great Egg Race - remember this being rather inspiring as a kid.

If you get BBC2 Scotland, the first of two McLeod/Emmet "5 Climbs, 5 Islands" films is about to start

As per my post two above yours. Was OK, some quite cool looking climbs in obscure places.

Phone shop.  Probably the best comedy on TV at the moment

Halloween special for all you Psychoville fans.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00vsv1c/Psychoville_Halloween_Special/

For those who haven't come across it before it's more dark comedy genius from the League of Gentlemen.

Been watching the Harry (Enfeild) and Paul (Whitehouse) series on iplayer. Comedy gold, my favourite sketches being dragon's den, Berlusconi and the Queers:

Just watched the first episode of The Walking Dead on FX it's on Fridays at 10.00 but then repeated throughout the week. Absolutely fantastic - don't know how it stacks up against the comic, but was really impressed with it.

here's the trailer (although it does kind of give the whole of the first episode away)

I watched the first series, and found it mildly entertaining, but not enough to watch a second series.

"must watch" is def pushing it, but then no-ones posted owt for a while

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wdf5t

Quite interesting for me as i live off muesli/cereals and yoghurts half the time, and i expect i'm not the only one (student) doing that...

Haven't bothered watching the one on water as it's fairly obviously fecking stupid to buy bottled water unless it's just the bottle you want.
To go off on a tangent, if i buy a drink at a service station or similar, i buy milk. It's cheaper than water!

Not a single mention of p-values or effect sizes!

BBC4 : The Joy of Stats

There are plenty of videos out there of Hans Rosling's lectures and David Spiegelhalter has web-site/blog Understanding Uncertainty.

I thought the analysis of blogs/twitter was quite interesting.  You can use Twitter to record what you do using Your Flowing Data (I've tried it out but am not religious enough in recording what I do so the data I was generating was very patchy).

(Thanks to Tomtom for the reminder, although I was at the Foundry when it aired).

Not sure if anyone else loved it, but I've had plenty of time for The Trip.

Takes a bit of getting used to but it's beautifully shot, and think the "characters" played by Coogan and Brydon are pretty well-observed. Anyway, the series catchup is on iPlayer at the mo.

The presenter is sometimes a little irksome but the content is quite good for those interested in this kind of thing.

Not an iPlaya TV show, but something from the radio last night.

R5 has had a few cracking documentary / feature things recently but yesterday's was excellent - a thing about Gazza, the '91 FA Cup run and the tackle which ended his chances of fulfilling his dream of ascending the Wembley steps. Really moving stuff.
