I watched it after the pub. This may be why our experiences differed.

I have just double Iplayered "The Cell" BBC4 science about, erm, the Cell.
Apart from some painfully stupid pop science -don't worry if you are very stupid viewer, it is all very complicated- phrasings it is pretty good if like me you are a lover so SCIENCE.

Re: The bridge, haven't seen it myself, but it seems a bit wankerish to spend some time talking to the relatives/friends what ever of suicides and then to drop in "oh, I do actually have footage of your loved one killing themselves, want to see it?". I think it might be a rather large emotional bomb to drop on somebody.

Why the fuck I went of on one about The Bridge when it is in fact the subject of a different thread, I will never know.
Shooting Stars? Sure it's great, but I cannot be arsed.

I was mildly amused by Shooting Stars, and I neither went to the pub before or after.

I didn't, Shaun Ryder was rather freaked out by it in various places, but put on a fair bit of bravado.  Bez was uber-sceptical, but then ended up playing along.

Y'all catch Dean on C4 last night? Well worth a watch, unusually in depth insight into our little world...

I didn't realise you lived in the faux-hippy-platitiude-spouting choad world  ??? I was somewhat embarrassed that people may now think that's what climbers are like.  There were some nice Yos shots though, overall it would have been a better program if they just showed those and left Potter out completely.

If you've spent any time in Yosemite/ Squamish/ J tree in the last ten years you're likely to have bumped into a few of those characters. Strange to see them on the telly

I ignored the hippy-hyperbole and enjoyed the program for some stunning scenery and absolutely mind-blowing self-control/belief and skill.

:agree: Standards have been maintained in the current series (i.e. brilliantly cringeworthy)

Don't normally bother with stuff like this but the first series of Criminal Justice was really good so we watched the first episode of the second series last night. Looks like it might be as good as the first which, although flawed, was very entertaining.

Hmmm. Didn't mean to embed it but never mind!

BBC seems to automagically embed links to their pages that contain media, started happening about a month or two ago.

If you don't want to embed it then surround it with [ noembed] [ /noembed] tags - job done :)

New series from BBC Natural History Unit, Life, is just stunning.

Nature never fails to amaze me.  Last night there were sea snakes that use a cave only accessible by an under water tunnel to lay their eggs in as there are no predators in there

Also last night were the Komodo dragons hunting a buffalo.  Quite harrowing to watch, and it took its toll on the camera crew too, who followed the "hunt" for several days, but perfectly natural and fascinating to watch.

Episode 1 - Challenges of Life

Episode 2 - Reptiles and Amphibians

No doubt also repeated on TV at some stage throughout the week.

Was going to post similar. Totally blown away by the quality of some of the footage, especially the chameleons (sp?) feeding and the basilisk running on water.
