damp chalk
August 25, 2009, 12:16:39 pm
The chalk in the last 2 bags of Moon Dust I've had have both felt damp, so I bought some Metolius Super 'fuck your skin up' chalk and that felt damp too. I heard that Metolius had a dodgy batch or summit and The Works were giving it away. Is it just me or have other folk had this problem?

:google: (best way of searching the forums ).

And if its dry, why not just leaveit on a radiator or open for a few days, or stick some silica gel satchets in there to dry it out.

....alternatively, think to yourself: 'What would Jerry do?'

It'll be going in the microwave then followed by a night in the fridge.  ;D

Has to be said though, what a load of bollocks buying chalk to dry your hands only to have to dry the chalk out first.

I’ve had two lots of wet Metolius chalk now. Pretty annoying and shit if you ask me. Where’s the quality control?

i've never had a problem with the cheap decathlon non-brand stuff. metolius is A. more expensive, B. ruins your skin, and now C. is wet. No brainer?

until this year metolius has been very good, certainly better than block chalk or anything else i've tried. but they now seem to have upped the drying agent, and made it wet, so i think i'll be looking for alternatives.

Maybe they haven't put the drying agent in and thats why the chalk is damp  :P

There was a couple of bad patches of Metolious chalk but they've supposedly sorted it out now. Think it was the Chinese manufacturer trying to cut corners...

For the wet Metolious wet stuff, we (works) just left it out to dry and then gave it away free on behalf of Metolious. Once dry it was absolutely fine.

Not heard anything about wet Moon chalk though. We've not had any problems.

Maybe the wet chalk was designed as a training aid. Like wearing a weightbelt or a pair of scarpas.

I bought my normal 8 blocks of chalk for £8 from V12 and when they arrived they were Metolious. Seems good value to me
