Just amazing. She could have lost that 800 by 13 seconds and when she was getting swallowed up by the field we thought she'd just sit in and make sure of the time. Not good enough, gotta totally smash it off the last bend and win the fucking thing.

Beautiful. So pleased my son witnessed every part of one of the greatest sporting achievements I've ever seen. And by a girl from our city.

Apparently Jess is also entered in the 100m hurdles (presumably as a fallback), the heats for which start in monday. I so hope she goes for it and brings back another medallion.
