The climbing to me is more impressive though, 150 metres up - 6 pitches of 8b and 1 of 8c, then 300m moderate but dangerous climbing to the top (courtesy of Google Translator):

Looking forward to hopefully heading out to Inis Mór this summer, some of the pictures I've seen of the place are gobsmacking! Will try and dig some up when I get home.

One could quite justifiably say "I'm going to go and try climber X's new route" so yes I'd say it is.  That is of course until an unspecified period of time has past and the route becomes "old".

Don't think anyones bothered placing gear on lead. Its a novelty route people do for the pics really. The pics are awesome though. Theres a belay ledge you ab in to a couple of metres below the roof. You can see the belayer's head in this shot of my mate Shane on it:
