Am staying in Cavenac near Saint-Pons-de-Thomières in the south of France next week,
anyone know of any bouldering nearby worth visiting for a quick session?
haven't got time to google it myself as I really need to go and pack
Cheers

I googled a bit - looks like this is your closest bet...
Topo
. It's .

Heading the other way and towards Montpellier, there's also
le Prieuré - Videos and pics - Map
les Salces - Videos and pics - Map
-these look a little further from your location, but perhaps better climbing?

The map on zebloc shows a few other places, but they look further still. http://www.zebloc.com/sites/index.php

Can't see a topo for these, but this might be of use:

Ooo, I missed this one.

Are you back yet Jim?

A friend of mine went to Fournes St Denis and didn't even climb - he said it was all ridiculously low starts on tiny blocs.

It's been a bit hot for lodeve sandstone (Prieure, Salces), but there's a shady limestone spot at La Blaquerie, on the plateau between Lodeve and Millau (an area that was once a Templar stronghold, where the Holy Grail is reputed to be hidden)

Actually, looking at the map, you would have been just along the valley from Mons, where there's the Gorges d'Heric, containing a few granite boulders along the river (I only found two, but it's a nice walk up the valley)

Thanks, didn't bother in the end as it was ridiculously hot and there was a fridge full of beer.
Glad I didn't bother going to st denis then, there is so much rock over there, unfortunately most of it is shite
