6 clips have been removed from evolution at raven tor.  they're all edelrid ones.  they have been replaced with some more but mine have disappeared.  any info would be greatly appreciated...

I hope you get your clips back, but at least failing that you can rob the existing ones as collateral.

Probably not going to make myself very popular here (and sounding like a stuck record) but there's one sure-fire way to stop this happening in the future, and thats to not leave clips in routes in the first place.

someone had left a manky pair of boxers and a fork next to Little Gem at Burb the other day. Lord knows what went on there.

I've had draws taken from routes that had only been left overnight. It's not good, but as has been said above I don't think that any draws should be left on routes at the Tor (or indeed elsewhere).

The crag is owned by the National Trust who do come and inspect it from time to time. I have been there during one such inspection and the fixed draws in Mecca were noted in a displeased fashion. If the National Trust don't want draws there, they should not be left. Quite apart from the potential access problems, it's their crag and their wishes should be respected.

I'm a bit confused by the original post - are you saying that your draws got swapped them for inferior models by somebody? If this is the case, surely its simply a problem of having you're draws downgraded as opposed to nicked....

Whilst I think this sort of thing is wrong, if you leave nice gear in routes then its tempting scumbags to switch them for the shitty old draws off their own racks. The precedent is not new - sponsored heroes leaving their £25 Petzl Spirit q/draws in routes routes in Spain/France/etc. often returned to their projects to find the shiny line of draws had been replaced by a load of rusty, tatty Faders biners by some scrotes/brits.

My advice - if you're going to leave gear in a route, make sure its not worth robbing.

Maybe they haven't been nicked at all, but whoever left the current set in didn't trust those that were already in there (no idea how long they'd been there, how many falls) so they stripped them and used their own gear, leaving those they removed in the back of the cave.

Wishful thinking I suspect.  :P

Yes, I noticed this and thought it was funny; the replacements are all upside down and some of the gates are fucked. Thought the original set belonged to PS and that he must have decided having fucked draws would be an incentive to not fall off.
