Hi all

After a hiatus of a few years in Oz and NZ I have come back to the UK and am keen to hook up with climbing types in the Bristol area.

FYI I have been bouldering for about six years, on and off and not to any great standard, and started roped climbing in Kiwiland, where'd I'd head out somewhere most weekends with a great bunch of people I was lucky enough to find through a message-board similar to this one!

If you are round the Bristol area and fancy showing a newcomer round drop me a line by PM or email, I'd be really pleased to hear from anyone.

Go on help this ex-ex-pat re-integrate as at the moment I cry myself to sleep with memories of bouldering at Castle Hill and climbing at Payne's Ford.

I.m not a local, but was working in the area last week and went climbing at the Ring Road boulders - pretty esoteric, but there are about 30 problems, most sub V6 and good variety too, with crimpy slabs as well as burly slopey overhangs.

looks like it's well used too, so could be somewhere to bump into friendly locals

OK will do mate.  got to Burton Coombe before the rain set in this morning.  NGood spot, nice and shady, decent (if limited) bouldering opportunities, nice and close to Bristol.  A few bolted routes that look worth a go too.  Just got to get myself more beefcake as couldn't even make it up up End of It All!
