Last year he seemed like an utter ar$e in the making

To be fair to him he has acknowledged as much in interviews this year and has shown a lot of humility this time around. I really hope he holds on to the green.

Shame for him, but good for the tour I reckon, Astana could do with weakening.

What a stage. Contador showed why he is regarded as the greatest climber of his generation & Armstrong had no response despite having Klodden with him. Thought it was interesting that Contador pulled his ear piece out - obvious got bored with the SD telling hi to wait for Lance.

And OMFG - Bradley Wiggins what a ride - he's in 3rd - what a star, no wonder he wants to stop riding the Track & become a grand tour rider.

Would it not have been a little silly for Armstrong and Kloden to chase down their own team member?

Yes, but isn't it also a bit silly for them to not keep up with anyone else?  In the end Armstrong couldn't even keep up with Kloden.

Not at all. Contador was the only GC contender ahead of Lance so there was no reason to bust himself to keep up.

In the end Armstrong couldn't even keep up with Kloden.

He didn't need to. In the end he played it perfectly, he gained a place in GC himself, Astana now occupy the top 2 places and he ensured that Contador gained a bit more time on any rivals. I fail to see what he did wrong.

Don't forget that Lance's game face is legendary. He's a master strategist and an expert at hiding his intentions. I think he'll surprise everyone yet.

Is so hard to know with Lance, could all just be part of the game, Bruynell uses every trick in the book so could be Lance heading up the road tomorrow with Contador sitting ready for the one two. Saw him fiddling with the ear peace, think it just came out.

Didn't know Lance put millions into SRAM (http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/armstrong-invests-with-sram-18729), kinda like Lt. Dan investing in a fruit company.

From Daily Peloton :- He [Voight] has incurred a fracture of the right cheekbone and a concussion. For now he is staying at the hospital for further observation.

Today is going to be a cracker! Shame I don't have a TV.... BBC text feed here I come!

I'm preferring letour.fr this year, with the profile, how far they are along the race, and who's in which groups, it's easier to get a quick snapshot of who's where whilst I've got a spare minute.

I found great streamed Eurosport coverage yesterday - (though it failed in the last min!!). go to ustream.tv and search for it.. or google tour de france and streamed coverage (thats how I found it..). Better than the BBC text feed!
