It's the old link it from your desktop through your user profile way. I have to admit to trying something like this once upon a time.  :-[

Hey, thanks all - that's just what I was trying to do, link it from my desktop.

The image will be firmly re-planted in the front of your minds from somewhere deeper now in any case

Btw, did I read somewhere, or did someone tell me that the picture was posed - in the sense that Bancroft couldn't really hold such a relaxed position and that he did so for a moment prior to pulling the kind of face and body position that most of the rest of us do?

Good work, worth reading Backlinking the easy way as you've opted for flickr to host your pictures, saves a bit of time in the long run  :)

There was an article about it in an old Climber mag. At least there was no toprope round the arete, so not proper posed.

Don't know if it's permissible being Mountaineering, rather than your bog standard Climbing, but here goes:

Dougal Haston on the Summit of Everest

Doug Scott on the Summit of Everest. First British men to summit (unless you believe Mallory made it), plus possibly the latest anyone has ever summited (it's about 6pm!). Shortly followed by the World's highest bivi (without bivi bags, or sleeping bags, or a stove, or in fact, anything!)

P.S. It was also a new route.

Ah yes, forgot about that, its one of my favourite mountaineering pics (not that I know that many).  The clouds and sunset are amazing!

There seems to be a strange glow emanating from Leo's posterior there, photoshop, or does the sun really shine out of his arse  :P
