Anyone know anything about this place?  Interested as a possible summer venue. There's a new guidebook out:

Hmmm - nice pics - looks a bit like Squamish in places. Very "green"... though maybe drier in the summer.

Basically I need a d/base of summer venues as t'uther half is a teacher.

A guidebook worth having on the shelf I reckon

Interesting. The area looks to have plenty of family friendly stuff too. Hmmm.

val daone is ok for a few days but definitly not a destination for itself. but it can be easily combined with other stuff in the arco area (placce zerbrate etc.) or other places in the dolomites (sella, falzarego, algund etc., though its ~2h drive up there).
expect some minor areas in val daone (up to 20 problems) on good alpine granite (fine grained, reminds me of the ticino stuff in places but not foliated). there is one larger area in the woods (the 1st from the village on the other side of the stream, i think) and there should be loads of potential in the upper areas ($-parking at the roads end, hordes of hikers in the summer!).
the little area (5 probs) below this parking at a small lake is a good place for tea&cake in a stunning alpine setting...

the valley seems to be a little bit on the humid side in summer (or maybe tis was only the summer 07) and the lower areas (in the woods) needed several days to dry.
