Apparently the recent .NET upgrade fucks around with Firefox (see also here).

Yet another reason (for me) to avoid M$.

Good call - i'd disabled the extension already but the page in your 2nd link zaps it completely.

Jump on the penguin bandwagon bubba, just run a VM for any music/video/pics software that you want to do, it makes sense just from a security aspect.

Seems this has now been resolved.  Installing .net 3.5 no longer prevents the add on from being removed from firefox.  MS must watch the UKB and take heed of Slack-line.  Well done.
