I can remember reading stories about how Paula Radcliffe used to sit in a barrel/bath full of iced water, after training runs,for recovery, maybe some of our resident sport scientists could comment on the relevance/significance of such techniques?

the question is how much of it is due to the vacuum and haw much is simply the cooling of the hand. would simply putting your hands in iced water have a simmilr effect?. gonna try it next time i have a fingerboard workout.edit: reading on i see that would simply shut off the blood supply, so im just going to use cool water instead
