Don’t get too hopeful, I’m currently struggling to light a barbeque in the rain…

Strong early attempt at the calling of the BBQ there Nik!

Driveway and garage wall surprisingly dry looking!
Low cloud/mist currently. But could be an inversion and all clear up on the edges… looks thin enough to burn off either way. Will be at Longshaw for a run at 9, will add more info then…

Glossop has broken cloud with sun shining at the moment. Pavement outside my house has gone from 100% wet first thing, to now 90% wet with dry patches starting. Not hopeless I'd say.

Very murky/misty at surprise view. Can’t see Millstone from the road, Burbage south invisible as well. I’d suggest a leisurely breakfast with fingers crossed for cloud clearing…

Webcams and forecast now are making Roaches look more hopeful than the East perhaps https://www.jamesgphotography.co.uk/peak-district-webcams/

Sounds similar weather pattern to last weekend. Blue skies in Fulwood, but was murky on the Hathersage side until you were past Blackamoor/Ringinglow. I’d definitely be heading out (rather than wall) if I wasn’t running today. I’d be trying to find a Stocksbridge weather report and heading that way.

Inversion at the plantation apparently, drying out and climbable problems. My spy is known for being overly keen though. Going for a look myself shortly.

Was just about an inversion at Stanage about an hour ago. Clearing in Hathersage a bit now.

Looking good for the afternoon I’d say.

It ended up being good at Curbar, too hot if anything. I nearly called the lime it was so hot at some points. There were midges out and everything.

Good to hear it panned out dry enough for the Peak.

I ended up playing it safe and going to Roche Abbey in the end.

I'm guessing with how wet it's been it'll be a while before we see the lime call.

I wish to report that it's looking gorgeous at Longshaw right now, and since I continue to be coughing my lungs out, I hope that people who are not me will be able to get out and enjoy it.

Any joy for this afternoon? I have a (rare) free afternoon and am still hoping it will “dry out” but webcams still looking pretty damp. Any locals who can put me out of my misery and I can have a few hrs in the Depot and sort out the street planters?

The roads are more or less dry in Hathersage now. I think you might find some dry rock but wouldn't guarantee it.

Pretty strong south-westerly up on the tops just now, so I’d expect the more exposed stuff will dry up. Rained a lot this morning, so anything sheltered is probably a write-off. I’d be chancing it late afternoon if I was free, but not sure I’d be driving any distance.

Cheers all, had a lovely afternoon out picking dry problems between the dampness. Also bumped into highrepute so nice to put a face to an avatar.

Certainly beat another afternoon at the Depot!

Hi, if anyone is passing today, I'd appreciate knowing what the conditions are like on the Eastern Edges this afternoon/evening. Thinking about heading out tomorrow but the forecast is hard to read. Thanks.

Even though forecast for this evening is misty and so presumably dire, might things not become nice by tomorrow afternoon when forecast is coolish and merely 85% humidity?

Soaking wet and misty as I ran along Stanage first thing this morning. Forecast looking slightly better tomorrow, but I'd be keeping an eye on webcams etc and probably aiming for somewhere lower, South Peak, ...or limestone

I went to Robin Hoods Stride and Curbar on Thursday on a better forecast (85% humidity and westerly beeze). It was mingin at both. Very localised mist and patches of light drizzle. So you could be OK, but the forecast can only tell you so much when it’s like this.

Wharncliffe was reasonable on Thursday afternoon - not mint, but dry. In general I reckon it's a better bet than Eastern Grit at times like this as it doesn't get the clag that the Peak gets, and most problems have relatively positive holds.

It was perfect at Froggatt yesterday afternoon/evening.

I'm just saying this to illustrate how much it changes day by day.
