Went out yesterday to try my luck. Mossatrocity has now had the snow cleared off its top, the top two holds were wet, but will probably have dried by now, also made a nice snow platform beneath it so one mat is fine. Stump hole cavern is dry as.

This was more of Froggatt yesterday. The pic was taken where the descent behind chequers buttress lies! 15 foot snowdrift?

Sat under 3bm it's soaked and snowing on it more although it should be good if the sun comes out for a day or two. Good work on the platform drew.

For anybody wanting to do some climbing rather than shovelling, wading, etc. then Mother Cap and Pet are both clean and have a well trodden track to them.  The Cap is full in the wind and would be a bit grim but Pet is sheltered and now has a couple of flat landings above a base maybe 2ft higher than usual

Carl Walk and Higgar also looked clean as I drove past, might be worth checking out (although would both be full in the wind)

Did you drive out on Eccy/Hathersage Road Nai ?
I'm guessing you didn't try the road up to Higgar from just below Millstone ?

Hathersage Rd fine all the way to, erm, Hathersage.

There's a "road closed" sign on the road up to Higgar.

Just popped out to Gardoms North which is mostly fine, just one or two problems still snowy and the approach shin-deep in places but mostly bare including bases and top-outs.

The road between the A621 and Curbar Gap is impassable though and doesn't look like it'll be open anytime soon (and we're only talking 100m from the main rd so quite a hike from there), Eaglestone looks bare, might be able get up to it the other way or from the street parking in the village then take the Bridleway up?

Gritter, given the state of lower crags I've seen I'd say it's well worth a look at stuff down there.

Hi Dolly, that photo is mine, Me & Piff went for a run last night, parked pretty near to burbage N, but i've got winter tyres and still would have struggled to get past the abandoned car. We ran down green drive around the bottome and bck up under higgar, ran up the road as it was thigh deep on the approach to higgar. The road has been cleared but is a total ice rink.

Yeah, ok for running if you stick to the trodden down section, stray a little too far left or right and you'll sink! I think if you can get out for a run you should, i've never seen Burbage so plastered in snow. there were about 4 guys digging a huge snow cavern last night!

Just a few easier things, was hoping there'd be some snow under the big arete but there's not, gonna need a partner for it after all.

Didn't stray along the edge, thought about it but didn't have a guide and not sure where stuff is, did drive down to the roundabout and back up and it looked ok in places, the brief glimpses I could snatch out of the window.

3 blind mice was dry and in good condition this afternoon. Ai No corrida was dry enough where you needed it, wet streak running down right of the arete but the pocket was dry and the main footholds, pebble was dry too. The ledges above were covered in snow, which I knocked off which made it wet but still climbable, it was drying up so should be good for the weekend.
Both have good platforms (Nice one) and are fine with 2 pads  :2thumbsup:

For those not wanting to wade.... Was at burb west tonight and it was all clear. Not even any snow in the landing areas..... Easy walk in too.... Reckon froggatt ( mint 400) will be ok tomorrow?
