River of Life was piss wet. Salle goose was dry. But it was in full sun and boiling as it's completely sheltered from any wind. Tops off and shorts weather no exaggeration. So it felt completely impossible to hold any of the slopers. Definitely one for a cloudy day. Thought other people might find this useful info.

I've just walked up to mother cap and owler tor. There is a bit of a breeze, but the rocks are still damp.

Bit of black ice around over the tops/stanage apparently so take care if heading out.

Just be out and wasn't inspired an bagged it off.  Seemed a bit damp still.  About 20 helmet clad students heading up towards Apparent North  so not really keen to share.  Not much parking left at Burb N.

Back at work now.   >:(  :slap:

Must have just missed you on my lunchtime stroll. Despite the strong breeze it felt warmer and muggier than I was expecting.  Hopefully better tomorrow for when I have enough time to actually put some boots on.

Anyone found somewhere good today? Bit of a hard venue choice with the strong wind and rain this morning…

A knowledgeable correspondent is aiming for the South Eastern grit area, no reports yet but that seems logical given it's westerly bollox.

Bit late to the party but stanton woods was mint today. Not as sheltered from the breeze as expected but great conditions.

Cheers Remus,

Worth knowing. The more sheltered bits of froggatt gave good entertainment too; even bare trees give a surprising amount of shelter.

Rowtor was excellent conditions not cold in the wind but enough air movement to make everything I looked at bone dry on the Sean's roof side. Think the rain was light enough and the wind strong enough to dry quickly, more prolonged rain and less wind and it would have been a terrible choice. Did consider stanton woods too. On similar days the upper matlock quarries have worked well and Shinning Cliff

I popped out in my lunch break today. Burbage north was fairly warm and lots of walls still looked damp. Stuff like the terrace was fine. At higgar all the stuff around piss was dry - was freezing there!

Minor rant but had a move a load of pads someone has stashed under the start of the terrace. Who can possibly think it's a good idea to stash pads there? It was also caked in chalk as if someone has been climbing it when damp.

Was at Froggatt Friday. Plenty dry at the main crag but a lot more snow than expected. Clag came down on the way out and has been around all day today, plus snowing on and off most of day, temps hovering around freezing so sleety wet not powder. Had a walk at Redmires. Some friends came up from London (full sun til Chesterfield), drove around for an hour then went to Forest rock. In short, prob not but if it brightens check the snow-proof thread.

Anyone made it out today ?
I would guess we had 2 or 2.5 inches in S8 this morning so presumably more on the edges

Went down to Curbar. Quite a lot less snow there than in S10 and roads 100% fine. Not really any dry bouldering though. Although the snow on top outs looks quite powdery my tests concluded that it’s the sort of stuff that leaves the rock wet if you sweep it off.
