#2175 Eastern Edges Today
January 13, 2017, 09:54:18 pm
Ringinglow up from Hathersage (up towards Higgar etc..) was not passable going up in a 2wd at 12 today - road was like glass. Other way up from Hathersage was the same. Got stuck halfway up but managed to get it spun around.
Got up to bbgN in the end via foxhouses way... no idea what the roads were like as sun set but I'd be surprised if they were completely snow/ice free.

I checked out secret garden at 8:30 am, mainly wet due to run-off or melting snow. Mother cap was all dry. Babe if snow passed through 9-10am.

RHS/ Cratcliffe had a mixture of totally dry stuff, stuff with wet bits and things that look like they won't be dry 'til spring.

Obvs I could be wrong but I dont think there's much chance of dry rock tomorrow. Its still with hardly any wind and its hardly dried all day. In fact there was very fine drizzle about 8 in the city centre so will probablty have been worse on t' edges.
Met Office says 86-87 % humidity tomorrow

Went for a quick look at burbage today, went straight to remergence, Blind Ali was pretty much dry but everything else sodden. West looked awful too.

Decided to go to the wall today and actually get some exercise, but couldn't go through with it when it wasn't actually raining. Drove over the tops, took one look at the crags and went for a walk in Monsal dale. SHITE.

Looks much more promising today. Roofs and roads dry at dawn, some breaks in the cloud, lowering temps.

After six days the cloud bank of doom has finally moved north and the sun is now out.
