Also a tip.

Once your end had worn down, saw it off then you still have two thirds of the brush almost new. That's what i find.

should you accidentally snap your Lapis brush, buy another one and break it in a similar place.  Then superglue the new part onto what's left of your old brush and hey presto you have your old brush back.

I just looked through the Climb Newcastle site, and whilst their Accessories section has a picture of said Lapis brush I couldn't find the page to order them.

Google can only find this and this.  The later has a link for Lapis Brush, but it just takes you to the Accessories section which only lists Beta Climbing Kit and Metolious Grip Saver.

Common Adam, where can we get our hands on these bargains?

thats what i do too, its a great tip and makes your brushes last 5 weeks instead of 4, but great for the monos in font

Having snapped countless lapis brushed over the years, I can highly recommend the wooden ones. Same bristle material but stronger and less likely to snap... Worth the extra couple of quid IMHO

I've got this set aswell and while I'm happy with the 2 smaller brushes the big one is shedding bristles far too quickly...  Happy with its chalk brushing capabilities but it's durability, not so much.

I would say that was not much use for cleaning holds.

Quite possibly. I'm still always amazed at the "specialist" brushes getting hawked to climbers.
The moon 3 brush set they used to sell with the bamboo shiv, used to regularly pop up on eBay as an unbranded manicure set directly shipped from China.
Although I rely heavily on my sublime brush for established problems, my old scrubbing brush (nylon and drilled to put on some tat) has seen at least 15 years of loyal service.
Platers brushes ( non metal bristle versions) used in jewelry trade have also been very useful, and probably appropriated and rebranded

Agree on that. I've bought the same wooden balls that are used as training aids by drilling a hole in them and branding them for much less than they are sold by climbing companies.

Tw*t tax, see also anything high end bicycles. Currently using a Kiwi shoe polishing brush for larger areas, reduced to £1-ish Morrisons. Seems to work.

Just adding some praise to Psychi brushes while I remember. Their first iteration had crap glue and the bristles fell out, but latest versions have a high "bristle density", nice stiff bristles and solid handle, and well priced. Not found anything that matches them, and tried a few (avoiding plastic when I can)
