Just been flicking through the North Wales Bouldering guide as I may be paying a visit to Llandudno in the near future (and am too shit to do anything in the Cave of Justice) and noticed that on pg202 there is a picture of Mark Katz with the caption...

"Leo Sayer, Papa Big Punch V8+, Angel Bay/Porth Dyniewyd, Photo/Ffoto: Simon Panton"

...presumably on the basis of "Shit isn't that.." 

What other jokes or references have you come across in guide books?

The line in the old Stanage guidebook that went:

"The wall boasted a mature silver birch tree (I've got a mature silver birch tree)." always used to make me smile, but I am easily pleased. And I never went to the crag, I think it wa Agden Rocher or Stannington Ruffs or somewhere.

I thought it was priddock woods, far end of bamford.
