Tilberthwaite groove climbed
April 05, 2009, 08:07:22 pm
Noticed on Lakesbloc that Jordan has climbed the beastly groove at Tilberthwaite.

Good effort that man, he must own a helicopter or something as he gets around everywhere!

The way Jordan's been looking recently, that may be a conservative grade.

Nicely done though, J.

He certainly does no matter how esoteric!

Why, has he been to the Ormes as well?

It is a truly pant filling proposition. I was up there a few years ago and remember looking at it and thinking it is going to need someone with large kahunas to complete it. It is a really nice place to climb with the 2 main boulders being awe inspiringly good.

I wonder of Jordan had a look at Traci Lords SS whilst he was there?

That's the first time I've seen a lakes problem and been inspired. Fine effort.

It climbs as well as it looks thankfully, sometimes these things look sweet but have horrid holds/ sequences. I just had two mats but would say more the merrier. Its all brushed up and ready for many more ascents, get to it.
The landing is unique, a huge flat rock platform that makes for perfect highball climbing and sun bathing ;D. Really beats the uneven boulders under your pad that is so common up these places.

Plus the walk in aint hard...

did you have a look at Traci Lords sitter? I believe it awaits a 2nd ascent.

Is this helicopter of yours available to hire?!

Had a brief play on Traci Lords itself and found it very hard to pull on. The sitter is mega impressive and looks like a classic gaskin style bloc. Not my bag at the mo, not a heel/toe hook insight :(
Maybe for when i get strong.

The chopper is back in the bat cave awaiting the next project.

I hear there's an unrepeated wall over at Rivelin*

*He's in Font so I thought I'd better shoehorn that one in on his behalf.

Hmmm not quite the King Cobra-alike I'd been lead to believe.  That small groove section does look nice tho.  Hocking must be gutted ... haha.
