Amen.

And before anyone types their agreement with an equally annoying misspelling, it's "hear, hear", not "here, here".

Of course I didn't do it on purpose. On a thread about common errors in spelling and grammar (and how they irritate you)?

Why would I do such a thing?

Slightly off topic, but I've been wondering what this means and whether I should take offence or not?

Quote from: richdraws

A) Does the word "pedant" in any way resemble the word "peado"?
B) What are you trying to insinuate?
C) Am I overreacting?
D) Do I know you?

One is a complete word the other is abbreviation/contraction of a longer word.  They both begin with "pe", but beyond that I can see little similarity.

B) What are you trying to insinuate?
A play on words?

C) Am I overreacting?
Probably.

D) Do I know you?
I doubt you know me, but you may know Richdraws, only you and he can work that one out.

Exactly! Maybe I am overreacting, but I would be interested to hear what Rich has to say?

Probably something along the lines of...

B) What are you trying to insinuate?
A play on words?

Although a poor simile in this case.
