Comedy in London?
March 27, 2009, 01:51:35 pm
Alright, so I'm going to be in London next weekend... no climbing or nothing like that (it's alright though I'm going to Font afterwards so I'm not sweating).  We are wondering what to do on the Saturday night and had a random thought that maybe we could try and see some comedy (as in a comedian) but have no idea what would be worth checking out or even where to look (I mean shit I normally spend my saturday nights looking at guidebooks or sanding my tips).

Any suggestions?  Thanks.

The Comedy Store in Leicester Square is alright - went once on a works do and they people we saw were all very good. Might need to book as I remember.

Where in London you going to be Ben? You do know it's quite a big place. Ealing is the home of Comedy.

Erm yeah.  I heard it was bigger than Deiniolen anyway.  I can't remember where we're staying, all I know is it's miles away from decent rock.

That was exactly what I was expecting when I asked about comedy!  Exactly how I would have replied anyway.

Thanks Tommy and Grumpy for the suggestions.  No doubt we'll find something to do...

So somewhere in the South East of England.

Now then Mr Line - before you start the stereotypical London bashing I should add that I was charged £3.65 for a pint of lager on Saturday night. In Sheffield!

Most have been somewhere trendy pretentious like Ruskin Bar or one of the ones on Eccy Rd (don't know the names, never go there, pubs round the back are far better).  Still you got more than twice the volume for less than you would have paid for a half in the big smoke ;)

(Actually its all pure conjecture on my behalf I haven't been into a pub in London for about three years now, mainly 'cause its cheaper to buy some cider buckfast and sit in the park with the alccy's  :alky:)

'twas Wig and Pen hactually - I knew their Budvar on tap was pricey (but good), so went for a pint of Krombacher instead, thinking it'd be cheaper...shows what I know!

Food is probably cheaper than booze in there!
