Cheers fd - I'd had a look at that earlier, on closer inspection my head hurts a bit. I'm quite tempted to do a J Tech datalogging day at Bringewood - £140 and you do the uplift day but with his MX datalogging kit and a freelap timer on the bike - he then keeps tuning the shock and fork from run to run till its peachy and you're also faster as a result.

You've got to be kidding me ... or are you at national level all of a sudden or something? Just ride the fucking bike; when you feel something isn't working the way you want and it's holding you back then change one suspension setting at a time and re-test. Repeat until bike is dialed. You'll learn far more that way than having somebody just set it up for you.

Stop looking to spend
And coming from you that is saying something

But yeah, just ride more Jim, you've not been doing it long. You've got to learn how too much/little compression/rebound/preload/etc feel and how to adjust them out yourself before spending money on an expert to set things up for you where you won't really learn anything from the process.

Psyched to get out with you guys this weekend, the knee has finally got some strength back.

I'm lucky to have such ascetics to watch my back. Thanks Mohandas and Dalai.

Anyway, it was just an idle thought, and the guy suggests doing it when the shock and forks are as tuned as you can manage yourself.

I won't be doing it until at least a couple of weeks after I've had a private coaching session with Fabian Barel

A really funny thing to do is when Bubbas back turned, alter all the dials on his forks randomly, he loves it................

I though we signed a pact never to admitt to that.

Sunday morning mike? Bizarrely may get a bit busy as its the last Sunday before the first race of the year at Eckington. Wild horses won't keep me away.

Really mellow, flat corners and fast in places, great intro back in Mikey.

Please could i get some recomendations for some handlebars, i've jus put my bike back together from france last year  and noticed the bars are slightly bent, i see this as an excuse to change them to something better. i think the ones i have atm are a bit to narrow. Any thoughts?

Whats the clamp size?  31.8 or 25.4mm  Important as it'll save you having to buy a new stem.

I personally run Answer Pro taper bars on both my bikes.  The big bike I run full width and the little bike they're cut down to 750mm.(bear in mind I'm 6ft with a +6" ape index though)

It's a 31.8mm clamp, I've got plenty of smaller bars and stems that are 25.4mm from when i used to do more XC. Cheers Underground  :2thumbsup:

if anyone has gee atherton in the dirt fantasy league, get him swapped out. Broken tibia so I doubt if he will be diong much this season.

For info: Currently doing a bit of a trip down memory lane, rode around manosque (Volx), awesome singletrack, Verdon even better (the GR49 has got be one of the best trails I have ever ridden). Off to Apt tomorrow to ride the bike park  :bounce: . The riding around the big crags down here is well worth bring a bike down for rest days.
