Heads up for anyone after a plush single crown fork.... I have for sale a mint condition Marzocchi 66 RC3 Evo Ti with less than 10 rides in it. 3 year no service warranty still in place etc.

I'd be super psyched to do the passport with you guys, but unlikely to happen this year, hopefully next!

If anybody is keen to get out there, we have 1 spare bed in the chalet (self catered) going on the 27th June coming back on the 2nd July, if we got a 4th person the price each would drop to £150 for the 5 nights + transfers from the airport.

Anyone keen?

Cheers for the offer, but looks like there will be other things going down at that time! I have access to an apartment in Les Gets if needed.

Best way to get sorted is make yr own team... After that u get the options to join a league... Then type in 177 to get to the UKB league.

If I ican manage, anyne can.

I agree with Ian, throw a team together people!!

It's free btw  :clap2:

Went for my first ride in the lakes on friday up Helvellyn, which involved a bit of carrying. The descent down the rock steps at the back of Dollywagon pike was exciting. I was wondering what the technique is for crossing the bloody big drainage channels is ?
Grow bigger balls and go faster shooting over them or try and lift the front wheel, which was beyond my skill and bottle level as it was pretty steep( I 'd already been over the bars).
Bear in mind I was on my hardtail, would a full susser make a difference, never havin ridden one ?

Without seeing the drainage channels it's hard to say but if you learn some basic bunny-hopping you'll be surprised what it can let you jump over.

A full-susser would probably let you come down the hill faster but without knowing the terrain personally it's hard to say :)

They were the least bike friendly ones I've come across, they certainly swallowed your wheel if you just rolled into them. The ones in the peak you can normally just lift your front wheel a bit and ride over, some of these had a 3/4'' lip as the sides were lined with slabs.
I can just about manage a track stand, a bunny hop !

Generally, I'd say learn to hop. But with these ones, from memory, are so steep that your best bet is lifting the front and back wheels alternatively. Although the steepness means that these tend to end up being constipated jerks of the front and puncture-risking rear wheel slams...

Not been up there for years though, it might have all changed.

agreed, its all a bit steep up there just to hop, you'd most likely pick up more speed than is comfortable.
front wheel back wheel worked for me on the descent after a couple of ballsy hops turned into big otb's.

thought I would share this with you guys, finally finished building the new bikes, took them up to cheptain, 30 minutes from my house in font, so if you fancy bringing your bikes on your next climbing trip this will wet your appetite, runs are short but nice, and lots of dirt and slope style, good fun day out

I sometimes wonder if in certain places they make them as bike-unfriendly as possible. Places where biking is not illegal but discouraged. Some of the places in the Cairngorms seem to have them like that.
