I cringed a bit when i saw the guy start the big gap you can just tell he's not going to make it then face plants the landing, he then just gets up pretty lucky not to break anything apart from the bike.

first of a few...

suffered a massive pinkbike server crash last night.. so one at a time from now on:

be aware, the bits that look steep are near on vertical... best appreciated  by the lead rider ( Bubba) slowing then dropping in, if you know the trail you will emphasise how hard it is to film the angle, it's taken me 8 years to ride it clean!! i did it, that run - behind the filming rider (fbsf).

happy happy days !!

Trail of the holiday for me - very steep but still flowy and great, technical, dusty root-riding :)

It's true, these wide-angle helmet cams do flatten everything out a lot. The little chute at 1:35 was too steep to walk down but it looks pretty tame on film. Still, the Go Pro with the chest mount does work beautifully.

I've uploaded some of the clips from France in HD - these are the unedited so no music/captions/etc but lots of rattling - straight from the Go-Pro source files.

I'm not trying to undermine Fatdoc's nice editing skillz but it's just Pinkbike doesn't seem to allow HD.

are all the tracks like those in the youtube vids like that over there? ive not seen many vids from there, and i was thinking they would be a bit more open and full speed. they looked like a very long, dry wharncliffe with a lift. not that thats a bad thing  :)

No, most of the official tracks are open and fast - I just preferred these "off piste" style unmarked trails. More interesting.

Technically some of the ones we were riding are illegal as they're on private land.

The official runs are good but after a while the braking bumps get a bit depressing.

Is that a dead deer on the floor at 1:05 or am I tripping?

Great to have another uplift within easy travelling distance, we should check it out for sure.

I missed this whilst I was on holiday - totally incredible championship winning run from Danny Hart at Champery. The conditions are horrendous and the track looks beastly. Just look at him take the piss letting it all hang out and still winning by over 10 seconds  :punk:

The rising hysteria from the commentators is quite funny as well.

The stuff at the ski village looks nice, any idea when it opens to the public?

According to Jon Dallow, they're hoping to have it up and running by May.  Going to need some volunteer effort though....  :strongbench:
