I think its spoiled by the massive lens flare that means you can only see about 10 feet in front of the bike TBH

ended up staying local this weekend as trail x was quite dry. just to let anyone who knows about it that the land owner is going to start cutting trees down soon so be careful.

My problem is I'm currently on permanent nights, so I'm rarely out of bed before midday. This means by the time I get out it's early afternoon. However, I'll do my best to get an early night Saturday night.

I've not been riding the DH bike much but keen to get back into Wharners and Greno, though I'll be pretty slow and my drop-nuts will have no doubt shrunk :)

I'm fuckin up the directions here..

best place to park

what I think is Platts lane

FBSF / Bubbs will hopefully aid me on this.

Dave C has secured his place in my van for an early one, as the clocks go forward then it will be mad to get there  much earlier than normal.

i'll get dave & me there for 8:45 BST, and then to the jump spot for the usual time of 9:00.... fast track, then NEMBA then new lines off it is my agenda.

I need to get out by 13:00, as does Dave, hence us pairing up.

as to wearing armour.. answer is yes.. depending on how hot it is.. I then wear less. At least Ffaceer, knees & elbows... usually whole suit. most riders dont... I have an old body that doesnt tolerate being wrapped round trees very well these days.

Might be good idea to give current easiest directions to Wharners at the moment.

Easiest place to park is Platts Lane, park at bottom out of way of factory entrance(though Ive never seen anybody avtually in there) there are normally other cars there, bikers and dog walkers.
Go down to gate/stile(obvious) and cross and then short distance to house, take footpath leftwards and follow for some way passing a track that comes in from the left and keep going to intersection with a fireroad coming in from right, straight on past the bottom of Diamondback course(old and pretty defunct) up small hill and over bridge and then keep going down hill passing a course on your right in the trees(ignore it)  till you get to another fire road coming in from right, on the other side of road is the jump spot, you can see the outrun crossing the track in front of you.
It all starts from here, i will posts a map when i have time

Yep, that's the one. You're more or less parking down in Oughtibridge then traversing in along the bottom of the woods on the fireroad that is also the Trans Pennine Trail.

instructions as per FBSF are from Platts lane.

It's not hard to find.

Ian, I'll b on my mobile.. and WILL be there at 8:45 BST in platts lane.

way way better than the top carpark.
