me and some friends are thinking of going to font, anytime after august. can anyone tell me when would be the best time togo? cheers

Best time for what? max Daylight, warm temps, cruising easy circuits, and sitting out the heat of the day under shady trees supping on beer, then waiting for cooler evening temps, or cool crisp conditions for moderate sending, or cold temps for hard sends. Any time after August is good, just depends what you want to do.

long mild days with fairly consistent weather? not to cold that down jackets are required or anything like that.

First, this should be here, not here.
Second, for your purposes (I assume from the question that you're not looking for anything too hard) I'd go late September or early October - will avoid the really hot bits of the year, and still before the clocks go back so lots of light. Shouldn't be too cold until the late evening either.

I've been a few times in april and it has varied between roasting, pleasantly cool and quite rainy. Haven't lost a full day to weather on an April trip yet though.

Fall is the very best time here for what you are looking for. Days are a little shorter, but will you climb 12 hours a days f roa full week time ?
It is dry, rather sunny, warm but not hot, and the forest starts to turn red, so really beautiful, and meduim season for accomodation prices and journeys.

Last year we went in April, it was damp but ok. Previous years have always been late September early October when it's been dry and pleasant.
