Maybe my priorities are wrong but I'm not going.

Maybe?
I was close to puntering for chosing work over climbing when it was optional and as you said first euro sport trip in 2 years

Last day in Bishop was nails on for the big goal of the trip.  Fell a couple of times from the top through lack of committment and belief, but still feeling strong.  Pull on to the decent start holds, and BANG!!  A2 gone.......

To add insult to injuty,  Depression and Napa Valley for a week doesn't do wonders for the waistline.....  added 2kilos in a week.....

So now onto 4-6 weeks of serious weightloss cardio.....

There are these things called climbing walls. Sort of like a crag, but made of plywood and plastic and generally at least 99% shitter than Almscliff.

Thats where i have been getting injured Will.

To be fair, that is where most people get injured. They're more dangerous than crags.

As my shoulder, knee, both middle fingers and something in my left foot can attest after last night's session.

It is pretty bad. But 1% of Almscliff's greatness is still ok for me.

After taking my foot off the gas to sort out a nerve issue in my back, and building up a solid base of 7B and 7B+ again,I hit up the 'Cliff yesterday to deal with long term nemesis Underhand Extension.Warmed up,sorted out the moves and set to. First burn;dropped on the last move. I thought,I'm in here...Next go,solid all the way. Then got RH middle two stuck in that motherless pocket going for the finishing jug...a twist,a pop and it was game over.Ring finger fucked.Full on NNFN!!!  >:(

Just had a physio tell me it will probably take at least another 8 weeks until my ankle is sufficiently mended to do anything fun. Injury happened on the 5th of January.... Arsecakes

On the bright side, I'm back in the land of shamrocks and rain so was unlikely to be able to climb anyway! And my front lever has never been better. Every cloud etc..

Not climbing-related, other than being just up the road from Portland

My Dad built the house I grew up in.  It looked like this:

Though the wonders of streetview I've just discovered some money-than-taste has demolished it and built this monstrosity in it's place:

You spend all that money on bricks and park that on the drive?
(And why have they blurred out the double burner BBQ?)

And the wheels.

My dad built our old house in Dorset too, I'm amazed it's still standing. And it appears to have shrunk since I lived there.

NNFN: gave house keys to the missus this morning, just got home and realized I'm locked out. The silver-YYFY-lining is that I have a laptop and can catch up on my UKB for the next hour until she gets back.

I did the opposite not so long ago, and found it quite distressing.

I arrived at work, then realised that as the missus had left earlier and my keys were not with me ( but crucially I had definitely locked the front door) -they must be still in it. Or so I hoped every moment of the stressful drive home.

Heh. Rather embarrassingly, the only reason my wife had my keys in the first place was because *she* had got locked out of the house this morning, and come into work to borrow mine. I suspect we're both galloping towards senile dementia.
