Family Lawyer recommendations?
September 20, 2011, 07:45:58 am
Does anyone in Sheffield have experience of and can recommend (or warn) of decent family lawyers?

Experience/knowledge of Irish law would be a distinct bonus as thats where my brother was married and ex still lives.

Cheers,

slackers.

Martin Sissons is a great guy, very friendly and helpful. Google him for contact details.

I'd suggest someone like Irwin Mitchell (or any other big firm) would be the best bet for a specialism.

asked a mate who used to work at Iwrin Mitchells  and he stated..

I can recommend a family lawyer in Sheffield but I don’t know of any family lawyers based in Ireland. If he needs this probably the best starting point is www.legal500.com and  www.chambersandpartners.com

which leads to

Cheers SamT, duly passed on details.

My brother (and in turn I) have no idea whether he needs a representative in Eire at present.  They were married over there, he moved over and after a year or so she turned round and said its over (no explanation at all, but this isn't the place for details).  He's now moved back to the UK and is seeking divorce under UK law (marriages in Eire are legally recognised here, just as mine in Australia is), 'cause the backwards catholicism only made divorce legal in Eire in 1995 and you have to have been separated for four or five years (so far only 1.5 have elapsed).
