I remember meeting this ultra keen German at Buoux in the early 90s. When he realised I was a brit, he launched into a brief, but forceful homage to our 2 globetrotting rockstars:

"Ben Moon, Jerry Moffatt - he ees the best!"

I nodded sagely in agreement, and he followed up with the killer line:

"Ya, ya, he ees really....BEEF!"

At which point I think I splurted my beer all over the table and struggled to maintain my composure until he'd sloped off to tell someone else about the 'BEEF'.
