(Kids programs were awesome in the 70's.  Anyone recall the black dude that presented Play House?  I never missed Play House.  But I miss that guy, he was really nice.)

It was probably the completely shit government ad campaign to make people exercise (that wont work at all and blatantly rips off Morph) that tipped him over the edge. I wonder how much money they've wasted on it? Oh look, £275m.........
