Dave, make sure your bar is open for them this year, please, with water and perhaps some fruit too.

We're now through day 3 of a November heatwave expected to last right through next weekend (28-34 degree maximums) so we've got the water bowls out plus we left some meat scraps for this little group who seem to have taken up residence over our back garden at the moment:

These are actually Australian Magpies! The left and middle ones are this years youngsters (about 10 weeks old now) and the third is a parent. They are very, very aggresive when nesting - they'll attack anyone or anything that comes to close to the nest site. They're about the size of a small crow.
The pics not great but I don;t really have a suitable digital camera for longer range.

A veritable goldmine, if a touch overwhelming.

 don't you think it's beak/nose (not sure of the correct term) seems stuck on?

Do you think it could be a 'bill' as in Duckbilled Platypus::)

But yes it does look a bit fake, sure it shouldn't be in the photoshop hall of shame?

Tris, it's an Asian Black Bear, a friend in Taiwan was asking if she was in danger if she slept in the woods so I wikipaedo'd for it and that picture came up. It's cute but its parents might not appreciate you giving it a cuddle!

I suppose it depends on the saying about bears and woods being true :)

I really want a Jerboa, but I would worry it was cruel to keep them as pets.  :(

Lots of lovely wee beasts, with the exception of that weird nosed mole thing!  ???
