and a few more furry friends from down under:

We actually get them grazing just outside our back garden at night sometimes. Doesn't half freak the cats out!! They must think we have the worlds biggest mice or something!

Forgot all about Australia!  Some snaps from a wildlife park

Kangaroos

Wombat (it had just guffed which I found very amusing)

Quoka's on Rottnest Island, these are very friendly little critters that sit around dozing in the shade of tea-tree plants all day, they're quite fearless too as you can see, and seemed to enjoy licking the residual sea-salt.

Is it a possum?  If it is they go from cute to killer in about 2 seconds flat, and have lots of horrifically sharp teeth, they're not pretty when they're mad.

I thought wombats were wee; that things huge, he looks perfect for squeezing!!  Love the kangaroos and would most definitely have been attempting to get a quoka in my bag had I managed to get that close.  They do exceptionally good over sized rodenty type things in Oz don't they?

Sadly, the Tasmanian Devil is in great danger because of a horrendous facial cancer that has spread like wildfire through the wild population (caused by a virus I think.)

On the bird theme. These are amazing looking. The Cassowary.

I'd never heard of them until the other day. Quite amazing. Very aggressive. Potentially deadly. Can grow to 2m tall! I'd certainly give one a wide berth but would be hoping to photograph it too.

I'm not sure how it does in the cute stakes but it's cool looking and also seriously vicious for a bird, which I enjoy.
