Music request
January 17, 2009, 06:55:02 am
Can anyone point me where I can find a mp3 or recording on t'interweb of a tape from Jockey slut magazine from may years ago?
its called Mockers and is one side Jon Carter mashing up the Wall of Sound back catalogue and the other side Cut La Roc doing Skint. With lots of Quadrophenia samples.
I used to own this tape but lent it my mate who went and lost it (bastard)
I've tried some torrent sites to no avail but hopefully someone will be able to find it somewhere. Obviously if its not out there I'll have to buy the tape again and rip it myself

Thanks for looking you pirates

It's on mixingbowl.org with no seeders, but was only added on the 11th Jan so could probably get the uploader to seed it afain.

Let me know if you can't join up and i'll snatch it for you :)

That is a quality tape! I might still have it somewhere  - must look for it.

I can only play tapes in my car at the moment and don't know a way to record tapes as audio files? Is there an easy way?

Either way you've reminded me of a classic free tape. Their "Free Acid" CD is also a classic...

Hi Joel - did you go the Peak today? Bad news about the Font trip....perhaps make it to Mello instead?

Anyway, a guy at work recommended this to me the other day...haven't used it but looks like an easy way to rip tapes etc....

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about/

Audacity is a free, easy-to-use audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. You can use Audacity to:

    * Record live audio.
    * Convert tapes and records into digital recordings or CDs.

cheers, Adam

Various different Jockey Slut mixes here.  None seeded though, might be able to request a re-seed though.

Cheers Adam, will look into it. Stayed local yesterday as thought it would be wet, but it turns out I was wrong, oh well. May be up next weekend.

Will bear Mello in mind and Font trip still on in April.

Jim - that sounds like a (marrow related) threat; not a request

Finally joined and PM'd the original poster of the file and he's seeding it now.
I can highly recomend this album/mix tape if any one else wants to d/l it.
