As in you could have a really fit bird with an awful chavvy tat = Tramp Stamp.

I think Jasper is onto something with his definitions.  Unfortunately in my case, it is a fairly shit tattoo, I had it done on a whim while I was working in San Fransisco when I was 18, I reckon it falls fairly firmly into the tramp stamp category.     I need to get it sorted at some point, soon as I decide how best to do that.
