Off to Cresciano in a few weeks, flying to Malpensa

Never been to Switzerland before and I've heard that we may need to obtain some kind of road pass?

Was wondering if anyone has any info regarding road charges or how to avoid them between Malpensa airport and Cresciano

Hi Rob, the tolls on the italian roads from malpensa to swiss are about 3 euros, basically free. At the swiss border you'll have to buy road tax about 40 Francs if i remeber correctly!

i can confirm mr doylo's info. around 3 francs to the swiss border, then 30 euros to buy the "vignette".

Here's a good tip, try to avoid sticking it on your window and you can sell it when you get back.

sadly, they often check that you stick it. what you can do is: before getting to the border, put a good layer of lipstick in the part of the window where you're going to put the ticket. if they check you, stick it on the greased bit, and when you're done with swizzy you can easily remove it.

Good knowledge on the chapstick. I have a friend who prepared his windscreen with clingfilm prior to crossing the border.
