5.14a (8b+) 1st go on trad is a fantastic effort in any book. However, it is not made clear whether it was flash or on sight?

Ah right. 1st try seems to mean different things to different ppl. To me, 1st try means onsight or flash. The danger with saying the number of tries something took you is that it could be misleading if the amount of work is not mentioned. E.g. you might have been working something for a month and then sent it '1st try' on your first attempt to lead it

Indeed.  I'd guess this is pretty legit. not a flash, but damn close...

Bear with me on this one.

Billy Ridal became British Lead and then Speed champion today, then warmed down a couple of hours later in the pass by doing Diesel Power, Mr fantastic and Pools of Bethesda.

Maybe this is not a significant repeat per se so mods feel free to move, anyway I thought it definitely deserved some acknowledgement. What a mega effort!

Great to watch, executed so efficiently. Warmed-down with Mecca Extension and Devolution the following day, clearly needs to get on something hard!

It was harder for me to pull the slack in at the start than it was for Mat to climb the thing  :o

Woah, wait, is there a correlation between climbing really fast on a well-dialled sequence, and successful redpointing something hard??

Yep pretty special afternoons climbing that, never mind the mornings work. Not many manage Pools. The cave brought him back down to earth the following day mind!

That's f'ing excellent. Andy F, please pass on a huge well done from me, if that's ok.

Matt's been "one to watch" for a while.

Very, very well done Matt  :2thumbsup:

Also of course, massive congrats to Emma on Big Bang. Massive. And total respect for her posts on Instagram about more important things
