LOL!!

Anyone know the rough proportion of interviews / films / articles with Steve Mac where he claims to not be a trad climber, versus the number where he claims that everyone knows him as a sport climber but really he's always been a trad climber?? Probably pretty equal.

Up there with the number of films where Daniel Woods pretends he’s never been sport climbing before.

Beat me to it. There's nothing like chatting bollocks to make you sound humble whilst simultaneously effectively claiming to be even better than people think you are.

Tried to listen to the Enormocast episode with Jacob Cook just now but was instantly repelled by another example of this- as soon as the interview stars he tells the host that before he went to Indian Creek in Spring 2015 “I didn’t know what a hand jam was. Well, I knew what it was supposed to look like but I didn’t know how to do one” A quick look at his blog confirms that the previous year he’d not only climbed the “Staffordshire Nose” in then-record time but also fucking Astroman.

It does make me laugh.

Never thought I would solo this when I first lead it 2 years ago, amazing how much easier it is when you know how to jam

"Well done on climbing that 8A mate"
"Ah cheers, when I arrived at the crag this morning, I didn't even know what climbing was."

Haha! I'd be impressed if someone laybacked endurance corner. That's got to be in the mid eights.

Judging by previous insta stories he's been on NL the other week.. I can imagine he'll rinse it. Impressive week!
