1:42 pad dab.

..... but then he drops off? And the uncut send footage comes after a few more painful looking falls

I had the same split second reaction, gotta keep watching before making the big dab call

Josh Ibbotson - Northern Lights on Friday. Mega effort and persistence. Watched him get so, so close a couple of weeks ago, being maybe one foot move from success, so great to see he was able to get it over the line this season.

Edit - ha remus beat me to it

Sorry, I'll insert a smiley each time I make a joke, in case it's not obvious.

Oops - I'll assume joke from now on then, maybe that's safer!

Paige Claassen, first female ascent of Dreamcatcher. "Only" 9a but gets lots of attention and very few ascents.

If this is correct https://gripped.com/news/breaking-news-paige-claassen-sends-dreamcatcher-5-14d-in-squamish/ her ascent was the 9th in the sixteen years since Sharma FA'd it.

Given it's perhaps the most famous 9a in the world, and the general world standard, that seems a very low number of ascents.

Without a doubt. My mum and dad know all about the Dawn Wall and the crux pitch 15. I've just checked, and they've never heard of action direct or Wolfgang

Ella Russell has ticked per project, Gringer 8b+, in the frankenjura. By my count that makes her the 13th British woman to climb 8b+ or harder.

Dreamcatcher could be the most instagrammed 9a. It seems like it is pretty easy to aid through the slab move at the start and swing around on the big sloper rail beyond for photos. Also there are multiple vantage points from the giant boulders around there to get nice camera angles without complicated rigging or a drone. Mentioning no names, but I can think of quite a few sponsored heroes who have posted that shot with a caption stating that they are actively working the route and implying that success might be imminent - and then never posting about the route again.

Whoops, little typo in the route name.
