The only contender I can think of who has not been mentioned is Lucy Mitchell. She OS'd 8a but nothing to suggest 8a+ but then she is a bit under the radar.

Regardless this is very impressive and I bet no one should have guessed the first 8a+ flash would come at Cruse!

Mina has flashed 8a but not 8a+. Nice one Rhos.

And Aidan, he has torn Rocklands a new one!

Best Brit abroad ever?

Its got to be up there with some historic trips by Jerry, Malcolm, Tyler; undoubtedly there are others that have had less social media coverage.

We'll have to wait til the Winter 18/19 paper issue of Rock climbing Abroad Magazine comes out to find out what Caffs done.

Sounds like the strongest Brit ever. Especially on overhanging crimps!

I'd agree Doyle. Crimps on overhangs he is an absolute mutant, maybe even as strong as the likes of Megos. Plus he has rhino hide for skin!

Rhoslyn Frugtniet, aka my cat sitter, has flashed Face de Rat 8a+ at Céüse.  :punk: :clap2: :strongbench:

He should get himself over to Bishop and give Lucid Dreaming a bash.

Or even better the G-Box on Pill Box Wall.

Well good. Any other British females flashed 8a+?

Karin has climbed a few 8a’s on sight but not 8a+, not yet.

Maddie Cope could be another contender for 8a+ flash? Though she hasn’t been to Europe for a while and I haven’t heard of her flashing one... she is off on a big trip now though so maybe she will?

What about Hazel?

The other channel's news item initially said they believed it to be the hardest flash by a British woman, but has now been edited to remove that line? Maybe they've found out, or just wanted to avoid speculation?

Yeah i think he must have rubber bones

Didn't he recently bust his ankles falling off something in Scotland?

Anyway, great effort, especially getting on something else hard away from home turf.

I think I find Fraco’s climbing exploits more worrying than Honnold’s!

As someone who is hobbling around in an air boot after jumping of from a bouldering wall I'm jealous as fuck. He's certainly got E10 knees and ankles

Best Brit abroad ever?

Toby probably in with a shout with early repeat of Finnish line amongst others.

Is that tick list for real? If so he's 100% the best ever British boulderer, and I've never even heard his name mentioned! Waddage

His ticklist says he's already done it.

Can't decide whether 27crags is the worst thing in rock climbing at the moment or EpicTV. It's a tough thing to call.

27 crags seems to be a lot more user friendly than 8a! Is genuinely useful for free topos too. Are you worried about the competition in the topo market?

I think I find it strange that there are people willing to put in the hard work to upload the information (or just copy it in from Unknown Stones) to and support a commercial website which ultimately doesn't have any concern for or understanding of the local area, when all they seem to get in return is a free t-shirt.

Before you demand an explanation for why this makes me unhappy, I think my position is probably illogical, definitely hypocritical (I put routes onto UKC if they're not already there and fill my logbook with useful information which might be used at some point to improve their descriptions), and certainly uncharitable to any individual, perfectly nice people, who are contributing to that foul Satan.

I'll probably regret this post later so it's worth mentioning that I've felt shit about everything for the past couple of days and probably ought to be doing some CBT instead of shitposting on UKB.

Now, Stubbs, let rip with your incisive dissection of my view! Go on! Let me have it! Give it to me like you give it to Pete on the EU thread!
