Can a mod split the news about Mike into a new thread? Seems a big deal.

Other than the Gaskins things is this not a 1st.

There's Si O'Conor's things...  ;)

This definitely needs its own thread. Brilliant effort!

Obviously an outrageously hard bit of climbing but
Quote
In March of 2014 Ned Freehally had a couple of sessions trying Serendipity and in between goes worked out a sequence for an obvious leftwards finish to Serenity, eliminating the jug at the end and trending leftwards via some tricky and very droppable moves.
eliminate?

Alex Puccio doing Jade (think you had to pay for this when it was first released?):

I know it's stating the bleeding obvious, but god she looks strong.

Good weekend for the older fellas with moon winning the FIBO and Mike putting up our hardest problem. (not sure how old you are Mike but guess its nearer 40 than 20.)

Come on youths, get your fingers out.

8C is indeed a great effort. Is it wrong that I'm more interested in Moon winning the FIBO?

Jade was originally given 8c, it came down quickly. Well it didn't Tyler said it was 8b+ almost immediately ie no one listened and it had to wait a further 2 or 3 repeats before the official downgrade.
I can't get excited about mikes new prob, sorry mike.

Jade thing was brilliant, such a strong effort. Yeah I think you had to pay for that and the Wheel Of Chaos one (also a good video but the climb is a bit of a stamina plod, shows how hard the few moves on Jade must be  :strongbench:)

Sachi Amma has repeated Catxasa 9a+ in Santa Linya on his third go this year. Amma did one try last year, so a total of 4 goes.

Ines Papert repeated The Hurting XI 11:

The pics look cracking: appalling weather, frozen hair, OG Fusions, the whole deal.

forgive the mixed punter question but why the note on the old style fusions being used?

Geekery I suspect. Maybe cos she's sponsored i.e. why isn't she using the new ones?

I think it's a bit of a UKC in-joke, there's been a few threads recently about upgrading tools.

Yeah old Fusions are ace for purely rocky routes - better than the new version imo, not that I've used either version loads as I prefer nomics.

Ines is such a wad!

Ha, just put 2 & 2 together and realised it was Ines that I was talking to at the climbing wall in Dundee,  she was bouldering with another Germany guy.
They said "we're just over to do some winter climbing" ha.
