Nice one on the 8c though Ellis!

He's an irritating little prick, bless him, but he can rep 1-5-9 on small rungs and goes climbing 20fo7. 9a redpoint and 8b onsight can't be all that far away.

Oh and I am bitter and jealous, before anybody points it out. So is Barrows.

More OT: any hints on posting links to a fb post (where I saw the Jule info above), when on my phone I'm using the fb app and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do this?

Jule Wurm, the German climber perhaps best known for her performances in the bouldering world cups, has done pura vida, the well known boulder problem in Switzerland (which I thought was 8B, but seems to mostly get 8A+ these days, so perhaps not that significant?)

Thats better, didn't take that much extra effort did it.

That's better, it didn't take that much extra effort did it?

You are the last person who who should be critiquing grammar, if that's the point you are trying to make.

Anything Else?
Don't resort to critcising people's grammar or spelling when arguing/debating - firstly it's rather scraping the insults barrel; secondly people often type to forums quickly whilst at work, etc; and lastly some people may be dyslexic.

Ben Davison has done his first 8c+, eye of Odin in flatanger. The bastard must have about 6 weeks of his trip left too, so fingers crossed the cave falls down.

Thanks everyone! It's a quality crag especially for upper 8's but there's quite a few good 7's and low 8's there too. I've got 7 weeks left Alex and there's so much more to do!

It was pretty impressive seeing Ben do this. The video does not fully show what an amazing route it is or how steep. The section coming out of the eye is pretty much a roof. 40+ meters of climbing with 4 crux sections all of which are 7B+ or above. The section through the eye weighs in at 7C/C+.

I have loads of pics of him on the route and his ascent was filmed so footage will out at some point.

With another 7 weeks of his trip to go i cant see how lots of other big ticks wont happen.

I cant underplay how good this place is, the rock is as good as it can possibly get, the moves on the routes would be classic boulder problems anywhere and the setting is out of this world. Everything from multi pitch 5s to 60m 9B+. Not all massively long but you best be fit. The routes tend to be more boulder problem/rest than total continuity that you get on limestone even when they are really long.

Even JB might be impressed enough to get stuck into some sport climbing as they follow true lines up the crag. If not there are trad routes  up to 7c+ to keep him happy.

With the potential for 100s more routes in the valley, dozens of other untouched crags away from the cave and the world class bouldering of Vingsand and Harback nearby this place is only going to get better. I will be going back every year.

It does look amazing. What are the trip logistics like?
