In fact its more E8 than most E8's

Definitely. I had absolutely no doubt that it's E8.

Was there a story in OTE about his first attempt at it....?

I think you'll find that story was first recounted in High magazine....

I may be being a doofus, but I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet:

I thought BFBWGC was an indication of a high level of interest,  :-\

Big Fat Boys Who Go Climbing? I didn't realise someone had started a thread for you mate. Please don't point me in it's direction.

All it needs is someone to report the news, which is done as and when people come across it (if they've the time and inclination to do so).

Effort!
Don't know about DFBWGC but surely one for the TMHoS, looks like the locals lobbed a tin of weather-shield at a boulder!

Great effort and I love the classic "...no, I'm trying to encourage you....." bit at the start. Anyone in a climbing couple has been there.

Great effort....and well overdue. I remember well the photos in High after it was first done. I was actually going to post a few days ago that it needs a second ascent after all the attention Wimberry is getting.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but:

Nicky Ceria has done Off The Wagon. Makes it look like a total path.  :o

Yeah it's in the bouldering vids thread. Not sure it's that significant - third ascent now? Such a shame James gave up bouldering...

Bugeleisen repeated, only the third repeat in 13 years. Rok thinks it might be 8C. Sitstart is possible...

Klem makes it look a lot easier than Nalle did.  It'll be interesting to see a new video.

The old video of Klem doing this is amazing. Didn't realise it was that steep though! What a ledge.
