Not massively significant due to grade but pretty impressive when you consider this kid had never had a pair of boots on his feet until just over three years ago. 0 -8c in 40 months.

Has bouldered up to 7C+/8A and onsighted 8a as well. Lots more to come i would guess.

Yeah he is pretty impressive and i have no doubt this is just the start.

I can remember Nic Sellers doing 8c after 5 years (Pego wrote an article about it in OTE called "vs-8c in five years"). This was back in 93/4 or something, when the top grade was 9a, so potentially more impressive unless Ben gets to 9a within the next two. Not sure if many others have shot through the grades as quick.

Hes not just a one tic pony either as done 50+ eights in the last 10-12 months including 8a onsights.

Yuji went from 7b to 8b+ in a summer and I don't think he had been climbing that long before  he came over to Boux for that trip. It was pretty amazing, one week struggling on 7b, a few weeks later chouca, bit later still les specialistes

3 yrs to 8c is pretty damn impressive though

Yugi and Dave G fair enough but dont see how the last two compare at all. grade 4 to 6c+/7a in a year is nothing to shout about i would suspect loads of people have done that and most people are happy to risk life and limb when there young.
