She's not shit is she!

Not kidding.  Duel looks like the style of climbing I love, shame it's so fooking hard.

Michele Caminati climbed 8 Ball today - does anyone know how many repeats this has had? I can only think of Bransby and Barrans

I haven't done it twice. Once about a month ago and once in late 2009.

That's a bit of an assumption. At other times there were other hard problems around the world I wasn't doing.
I've been spending a lot of time and effort not doing any of them. Except Dreamtime, I haven't got round to not doing that at all. I'm going to try and not do it this year maybe.

I'm happy to take a concensus grade if it's easier. It's the quality of the moves I'm interested in, if it's easier I will be able to not do it quicker, thus giving me more time to not do some hard routes.

I think what we are seeing here is a great example of why the correspondance theory of truth is a bit shit when it comes to dealing with negative statements.

Our common sense tells us that a statement is true if there is a state of events in the world that corresponds to that statement.

eg "Butters climbed Strawberries at Curbar" is true because that event happened.

Now, when it comes to negative statements like "Lagers has not climbed The Ace" it would seem that we are saying that a non-event has occured. The difficulty with having non-evnts occuring in the world is that there are an infinite number of them, so they are not very meaningfull.

arse, got to get back to work

anyway, a coherence theory of truth is the only way forward

edit

positive statements like "Jasper failed on West Side Story" do not provide difficulties to those stuck in the crazy mixed up world of "common sense"

8 Ball ascents at the very least:

Ben Moon, John Gaskins, Malcolm Smith, Ben Bransby, Jvan Tresch, Tim Clifford, Randy Puro, Rich Simpson, Gaz Parry, Dave Barrans, Mark Katz, Michele Caminati…

and probably lots more - one of the most climbed 8A+ or upwards problems in the UK...

at the risk of being boring, I still think it's worth reporting that Michele did Renegade Master a few days ago (no rope, ground up), and Gaia yesterday (head point).
